North American Partners in Anesthesia’s Dr. Dale Anderson Conducts Simulation-based Training for Physicians and Clinical Staff at East Side Endoscopy
Hands-on Educational Approach Uses Realistic Medical Scenarios to Improve Patient Safety and Outcome
North American Partners in Anesthesia’s (NAPA) Managing Partner, Dale Anderson, MD, recently conducted an educational, team-based simulation training session for the physicians and clinical staff at East Side Endoscopy in New York, NY. The hands-on training used high fidelity simulation to practice lifesaving rescue skills related to uncommon but critical clinical events in a risk-free and safe environment. The customized curriculum focused on clinical scenarios that can occur in gastroenterology and ASC settings, including cardiac arrest and airway compromise. Also included in this training was an ACLS rhythm recognition review. In addition to advancing provider skills and knowledge, the continued learning session promoted teamwork through effective communication and overall performance to increase patient safety and provide the highest clinical outcomes.
In 2014, NAPA began serving as the exclusive provider of anesthesiology services at East Side Endoscopy. This relationship has since expanded with the provision of acute and chronic pain management services at the Center.
