North American Partners in Anesthesia’s Michael Simon to be Featured Panelist at 2014 Becker’s Hospital Review 5th Annual Meeting
North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA) announced today that regional director, Michael Simon, M.D., will be a featured speaker at the 2014 Becker’s Hospital Review 5th Annual Meeting to be held May 15-17, 2014 at the Swissôtel in Chicago, Illinois. NAPA will also support the event as an exhibitor at booth #15.
Dr. Simon will be a panelist alongside Nick Zenarosa, MD, FACEP, System Medical Director of Emergency Services of Baylor Health Care System, Nick A. Fabrizio, PhD, FACMPE, FACHE, Principal of MGMA Health Care Consulting Group and Amber McGraw Walsh, JD, Partner of McGuireWoods LLP during the session “Physician Integration – Best Practice for Great Groups”. The goal of the panel is to allow Dr. Simon and the other panelists to share their thoughts on:
- What physician alignment strategies are most popular in their markets, and which they employ
- How to actually align physicians around goals (after all, it's about much more than structure)
- Common mistakes around physician alignment, from their perspective
- Why alignment is critical as we transform from a FFS to pay-for-performance industry

He has previously served as the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA, and Macneal Hospital, Berwyn, IL. He currently serves as Immediate Past-President of the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists (NYSSA).
