NAPA Exclusive Event Sponsor for Fourth Consecutive Year
North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA), one of the largest single-specialty anesthesia and perioperative management companies in the US, today announced its support of The New York Academy of Medicine’s (NYAM) annual Anesthesiology Residents’ Night as its exclusive sponsor and donor. The event serves as an opportunity for residents from anesthesiology programs in the tristate area to compete for top honors with the presentation of their original clinical and scientific research to fellow clinicians and researchers. Winners will be selected by a panel of physician judges and will have their papers published by Anesthesiology News, one of the most prestigious anesthesiology publications in the United States. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 6 to 8:30pm at The New York Academy of Medicine, located in New York, NY.
NAPA Regional Director and Chief of Anesthesia, Sheldon Newman, MD, will also be presenting on the topic “Improved Safety and Throughput Efficiencies Gained by Remote Video Auditing in the OR”. His presentation will focus on NAPA’s remote video auditing (RVA) solution, NAPA Peak Performance2®, and its ability to dramatically improve compliance among healthcare workers, strengthen patient safety, drive efficiencies within the OR suite and improve surgeon satisfaction. In addition, other NAPA clinical leaders were in attendance to share knowledge and insights with the residents.

NAPA, along with Elizabeth Frost, MD, Professor of the Department of Anesthesiology, Mount Sinai Medical Center and Anesthesiology Section President of NYAM, has joined forces to further develop and enhance the section through this peer-to-peer event. This collaboration has garnered significant industry attention and has resulted in a variety of abstract submissions from residents attending top schools such as New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, Northwell Hofstra School of Medicine and NYU Langone Medical Center.
