North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA), the largest single specialty anesthesia and perioperative management company in the United States, recently supported The New York Academy of Medicine’s (NYAM) annual Anesthesiology Residents' Night as its exclusive sponsor and donor. The event took place on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at The New York Academy of Medicine, located in New York City. Matthew Klein, M.D., a NAPA Chairman of Anesthesia, presented on the topic “How Quality and Service are Inseparable in Anesthesia”. In addition, other NAPA clinical leaders were in attendance to share knowledge and insights with the residents.

"We are delighted to be working with NYAM for the third consecutive year to present such an impactful event to anesthesiology residents," said Dr. Di Capua. “With residency programs throughout the Northeast and strong ties to numerous academic institutions, NAPA is heavily invested in career development and educational opportunities for the future leaders of our specialty. This residents' event allows us to continue these efforts by reaching residents in a different capacity and further encouraging their development and growth."

With over 60 years of history, anesthesiology is one of only twelve specialty sections associated with NYAM. NAPA, along with Elizabeth Frost, M.D., Professor of the Department of Anesthesiology, Mount Sinai Medical Center and Anesthesiology Section President of NYAM, has joined forces to further develop and enhance the section through this peer-to-peer event. This collaboration has garnered significant industry attention and has resulted in a variety of abstract submissions from residents attending top schools such as Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Mount Sinai School of Medicine and New York Presbyterian Hospital.
