Serving Chronic and Acute Pain Patients throughout Long Island

North American Partners in Pain Management (NAPPM), announces the grand opening of its newest pain management practice, Huntington Pain Institute, located at 195 East Main Street, Huntington, NY. This is the fifth pain management practice established by NAPPM on Long Island, NY, with a focus on serving those suffering from acute and chronic pain. The office will be managed under the leadership of Robert Antoniou, MD, renowned for his innovative approaches to pain management. The new practice will offer a wide range of services, including epidurals, joint injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation and general pain management. In addition, patients of Huntington Pain Institute will have access to comprehensive pain management treatment options at Huntington Hospital.

“Huntington Pain Institute understands the need to apply innovative treatments to address some of the most complex pain challenges our patients face,” said Dr. Antoniou. “Our philosophy of care is based on using both traditional and non-traditional techniques to provide the most effective management of pain. We look forward to providing compassionate, customized care to our patients in Huntington and its surrounding communities.”

Dr. Antoniou is a native Long Islander and a graduate of Duke University. During his time at Duke, he was an active member of the soccer team. Injuries on the field led him to work closely with the team’s physical therapist and doctors. This experience gave him a deep understanding of the nature and treatment of sports injuries. Later, he volunteered at Duke Children’s Hospital and the Brain Tumor Center at Duke where he was inspired to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Antoniou received his medical training at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine and completed his residency training in anesthesiology and fellowship training in pain management at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, an affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA.

Dr. Antoniou specializes in the treatment of low back and neck pain caused by degenerative disc disease, arthritis, spinal stenosis, herniated disc, sciatica, muscle spasms, trigger points and pain following spine surgery. He also has expertise in treating cancer-related pain, complex regional pain syndrome, neuropathic pain, pelvic pain, peripheral neuralgias and major joint pain.

Dr. Antoniou and his staff will be offering office hours Monday through Friday. Appointments will be available at convenient times to meet the needs of busy individuals and families. Most major insurances are accepted. To make an appointment, please call 631-629-4910.
