Two NAPA Clinical Leaders Receive Health Care Award from Long Island Business News
Recognized for Commitment to Quality Healthcare on Long Island
North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA) announced today that two of its leading anesthesiologists were selected by Long Island Business News (LIBN) as 2016 Achievements in Health Care award recipients. The NAPA winners, Drs. Sheldon Newman and Leo Penzi, were recognized in the Physician category. Both serve as Regional Clinical Directors and Chiefs of Anesthesia for NAPA. The physicians were selected by a panel that evaluated each candidate on specific criteria, including promotion of innovation and contributions that enhance the value and quality of healthcare on Long Island. The honorees were recognized at an awards dinner on Tuesday, November 1, at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY.

Dr. Newman serves as Executive Vice Chairman, Department of Anesthesiology and attending cardiac anesthesiologist at a NAPA-affiliated hospital. In addition, he is presently Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.
Dr. Penzi holds positions as Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Anesthesia at a Long Island-based NAPA-affiliated hospital. In addition, he holds several academic appointments including Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine and Clinical Instructor on the faculty of Cornell University Medical College in New York, NY. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiologists.
