Fine dining on the move with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway

Silver service Pullman places available through November and December

Top restaurateurs often select stunning venues so that the views match the fantastic food, but how many can boast stunning panoramas that change by the second?  That’s the treat that diners on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Pullman services will enjoy this autumn and winter, with fine dining on the rails.

“For many people, dining on a railway has almost become a ‘distress’ purchase, but those boarding our Pullman cart enjoy a carriage-based dining experience that has far more in common with the Orient Express than pre-packed sandwiches!  Our diners enjoy silver service to rival any top static restaurant, with delicious freshly-prepared four- or five-course meals and coffee,” comments commercial services manager, Paul Brown.  “We not only have some of the finest food on the North York Moors, we also offer our diners stunning views as the steam trains pass through the National Park between Pickering and Grosmont.”

Throughout December, the normal Pullman service transforms into the Chrismas Moorlander, complete with a special seasonal menu which is ideal for pre-Christmas family celebrations.  With delicious starters including melon and pineapple laced with warm rum punch, a full roast dinner course with seasonal vegetables, and traditional Christmas pudding for dessert.  The round trip, which takes around two and a half hours, finishes off with coffee and Christmas cake.

The heritage railway has also released tickets for its New Year services on 3, 4 and 5 January 2014 – often snapped up by people looking for unusual Christmas gift ideas – and a meal for two on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Pullman is a treat that will never be forgotten.

Tickets for the November Pullman service cost £65.00 per person.  Tickets on the Christmas Moorlander are £58.00 for adults, £46.50 for children and £56.50 for concessions.
