Luxembourg, May 11, 2012 - Northland Resources S.A. (TSX: NAU, OSE: NAUR and NAUR R, Frankfurt: NPK - "Northland" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received the building permit to construct the storage building in Pitkäjärvi. The Kiruna Municipality Building Department issued the key permit on May 10, 2012.

Northland began construction, mainly earth works related to the railroad spurs and the road at the transloading terminal, in March 2012. The terminal is located in Pitkäjärvi outside the village of Svappavaara. Iron ore concentrate will be transferred from trucks onto rail cars for transportation to the port of Narvik.

"We are pleased with the decision from the Municipality of Kiruna," said Willy Sundling, Project Manager - Logistics. "The storage building is a vital part of the Pitkäjärvi terminal, essential for the logistics chain to transport our high quality product from the mine in Kaunisvaara to the port in Narvik. The construction of the storage building will facilitate a safe and efficient handling of the material in a heated environment and ensure on-time deliveries of concentrate in early 2013."
