Northland Appoints Stuart Pettifor to the Board of Directors
Vancouver, Canada, August 9, 2007: Northland Resources Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Stuart Pettifor to the Company's Board of Directors. He is a past Director and CEO of Corus Steel, and has operated steel mills in the UK, Netherlands, Sweden and USA.
Mr. Pettifor has had a long and distinguished career in the steel industry. After gaining a 1st Class Honours degree in metallurgy from Nottingham University in 1970, he joined British Steel (now Corus). In 1990 he was appointed CEO of Seamless Tubes Ltd., a British Steel business which manufactured 500,000 tonnes per year of seamless tubes. In 1994 he became Managing Director Section Plates and Commercial Steels, which was British Steel's largest business with a turnover of £5.0-billion. In 2001, Mr. Pettifor was appointed to the Board of Corus Steel with responsibility to restore both the Dutch and UK operations to profitability. In 2002 he was appointed acting CEO of Corus Steel. He has since retired from Corus, and now serves as a director of two other companies.

The Company has granted 100,000 incentive stock options to Mr. Pettifor, exercisable for five years at a price of $3.96 per share
The Company also wishes to announce that Mr. Larry Kornze has stepped down from the Board of Northland effective immediately. The Board would like to thank Mr. Kornze for his contribution to the development of Northland and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
