Northland Drills Tapuli iron project, Sweden

Buck Morrow, President of Northland Resources Inc., is pleased to announce that an aggressive drilling program is currently underway at the Tapulivuoma ("Tapuli") magnetite deposit in Norrbotten District, Sweden. The Tapuli prospect is located 5km from the Stora Sahavaara magnetite deposit. Northland controls 100% of the exploration permits that host the Tapuli project, which is part of a large land position held by Northland in the Norrbotten district.

The Tapuli body is a near surface, open pittable magnetite body that Management believes could be mined concurrently with the nearby Stora Sahavaara magnetite body, potentially extending the open pit mining phase of Northland's iron projects by up to 5 years. The reader is cautioned that Northland has not completed a feasibility study on either the Tapuli or Stora Sahavaara magnetite bodies and there is no certainty that the projects will be economically viable.

The deposit subcrops 11 meters below the till surface. Drilling by the Swedish Geological Survey (SGU) has partially outlined the resource to a minimum depth ranging from 100 to 300 meters below surface. Historic magnetite resources are estimated by the Swedish Geological Survey (SGU) as approximately 60,000,000 tonnes of magnetite ore grading 30% Fe + 0.01% Cu + 0.18% S and 0.07% P.  The thickest part of the deposit occurs along the hinge of a major fold axis containing a cylindrical shaped body of higher grade mineralization estimated at 17-million tonnes averaging + 40% Fe to a depth of 300 meters. The SGU has also reported anomalous gold values in the deposit. The reader is cautioned that these are historic resources, and the Company believes that term "resources" is used differently from the use of that term in NI 43-101.  The Company does not have - and is not aware of - any more recent resource estimates which conform to the standards laid out in NI 43-101 and the historical estimate should not be relied upon.

The mineralization can be traced for 2,200 meters along a northeast-southwest strike direction. Geophysical work (magnetic and gravity) completed by the SGU in 1971 concluded that the central core of high grade may be continuous to a depth in excess of 2000 meters. The width of the magnetite horizon ranges from 10 to 200 meters.

Northland's management decided to commence an aggressive drill program at Tapuli after locating a completed pit design and mine plan for the magnetite body prepared by previous operators of the project. Additional drilling is planned to target 2 other magnetite bodies along strike to the northeast and southwest of Tapuli, these are known as the Ruutijarvi and Palotieva projects.

Stora Sahavaara Project

On April 4th, Northland's contractors completed collection of the 1,000 tonne bulk sample of magnetite from the Stora Sahavaara body. The Company is currently preparing to ship a representative 100 tonne split of the material to SGS Lakefield's metallurgical test facility in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada.
