Vancouver, Canada, August 2, 2007.  Al Gordon, Northland Resource's Vice President of Mine Development and Operations is pleased to announce that the Chief Mine Inspector of Sweden has approved Northland's application for the construction of a road into the Tapulivoumo (Tapuli) magnetite project area in Norrbotten County, Sweden.

When completed, the road will allow exploration to begin immediately rather than having to wait for the winter freeze up to access the field area. Construction details have been prepared and have been submitted to the County Administration Board for their final review. All landowners and interested parties have been contacted and have given their approval for the road construction.

Buck Morrow, the President of Northland said "The approval of the permit to construct a road into the project area will accelerate our exploration of the Tapuli resource by as much as 6 months and allow for year round exploration access to the area."

The Tapuli magnetite deposit is located 5km to the north of Northland's Stora Sahavaara magnetite deposit. Northland's recent drilling results (see press release of June 15, 2007) support management's view that the Tapuli body is a potential source of low sulphur iron ore, accessible by open pit mining operations with a relatively low stripping ratio.

Northland Resources Inc. is a well-structured, debt free junior exploration company with a portfolio of high quality iron, gold, and base metal exploration projects in Sweden and Finland.
