Northland Receives Key Permits For Hannukainen Project, Finland

Vancouver, Canada, November 19, 2007: Northland Resources is pleased to announce that it has received 2 key permits for its 100% owned Hannukainen iron-copper-gold project in Finland. The permits allow Northland to drain the Laurinoja open pit and to collect a bulk sample of mineralization within the existing pit area for pilot-scale metallurgical test work.

The Finnish-Swedish Trans-Border River Commission recently granted a pumping permit which will allow Northland to drain the Laurinoja open pit. This work will start as soon as a contractor can be mobilized to the site and dewatering is expected to take 3 to 4 months to complete.

Once dewatering is finished, a bulk sample will be taken for metallurgical testing. Northland has received the permission from the Northern Finland Environmental Permit Authority to carry out test excavations to collect a bulk sample. The material excavated will provide key information for the metallurgical process design work for Hannukainen. In addition, when the pit is drained, the Company's geologists will be able to map the pit area in detail.

Buck Morrow, the President of Northland said "The receipt of these permits is a major step in the advancement of the Hannukainen Project. It also demonstrates the excellent level of cooperation between Northland and the permitting agencies of Finland and Sweden involved in reviewing our applications and granting the permits, and has established a solid foundation for future cooperation. We will carry out this phase of work in an environmentally and socially responsible manner."

Background

Northland has defined a major, NI43-101 compliant iron-copper-gold resource at Hannukainen project in Finland, which was reported on August 23rd, 2007. Total Measured plus Indicated resources are 84.6 million tonnes with an average grade of 34.6% Fe, 0.20% Cu, and 0.093 g/t Au using a cut-off of 15% Fe. An additional 81.6 million tonnes @ 35.7 % Fe + 0.13%Cu + 0.036 g/t Au have been defined in the inferred category.

The Hannukainen area itself represents only one of a number of known iron-oxide-copper-gold type magnetite occurrences in the Kolari District, Finland that are currently being evaluated by Northland. On the Swedish side, at the Stora Sahavaara prospect which is roughly 25km from the Laurinoja open pit, the Company has defined a significant NI43-101 compliant iron resource with Cu credits (see Northland's press release dated May 18, 2006). Northland's broader objective is to define combined resources in excess of 500 million tonnes of magnetite mineralization within the region.

Qualified Person

The resource modeling for Hannukainen was completed in a joint effort between Micon International of Norwich, United Kingdom and Geovista of Lulea, Sweden. Mr. D.K. Mukhopadhyay, MAusIMM, of Micon served as the independent Qualified Person for the resource modeling.
