Analysis of Mobile Number Portability Solution for Finland HELSINKI - February 26, 2003 - EU's directive 2002/22/EY requires that mobile phone numbers have to be portable when subscribers change service providers in any particular European Union country. The directive affects the Finnish law that is being changed accordingly. Finnish operators shall offer mobile number portability in Finland from July 25th 2003 onwards according to the prepared law. DNA Finland Ltd, Oy Radiolinja Ab, Sonera Oyj and Telia Mobile AB in Finland have agreed to outsource an analysis of mobile number portability solution in Finland. Companies have jointly decided to use Northstream AB in analysing the implementation of the solution. There will be updates of the project achievements during spring 2003.
