Atlas Copco´s Wagner-division moves the production, of low loading trucks for underground transports in mineshafts, from Portland in USA back home to Sweden. An agreement has been reached with NOTE, the fully Swedish owned manufacturer of electronics, regarding the electrical systems for the trucks. – We shall produce the complete electrical systems for the low loaders, Gerd Levin-Nygren, President of NOTE Torsby tells us. – NOTE Torsby’s specialty is electronics for vehicles and we already produce the electrical systems for the Atlas Copco Rock Drills, drilling rigs. This increased cooperation with Atlas Copco is therefore very positive for us, Gerd continues. More Atlas Copco-companies in the Torsby factory Atlas Copco has just decided upon an aggressive product development strategy of trucks since the global competition has hardened during the last years. The move back to Sweden of the Wagner-division is expected to improve the efficiency of the production. – We see large synergy advantages with the move to Sweden, says Peter Trimmel, strategic purchaser at Atlas Copco. – When selecting a supplier in Sweden the long range view was very important. By the agreement with NOTE to handle our production we choice a strategic supplier for both short and long term view, Peter continues. – The new electrical systems are very similar to those NOTE Torsby manufacture for Atlas Copco today, and we find large possibilities for good synergy effects even there. – We start up the production in September and we see a great potential in this agreement. Atlas Copco has the possibility to be one of our largest customers, Gerd Levin-Nygren, President at NOTE Torsby, concludes.
