Media accreditation form British Gas Great North Swim, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September 2010 The UK’s biggest outdoor swimming event is returning to the Low Wood Bay Hotel Marina in lake Windermere on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September. Some 9,000 swimmers will participate in the one-mile British Gas Great North Swim across two days - with a further 15,000 spectators expected to converge on one of England’s most iconic locations. Saturday will also feature elite men’s and women’s races with a host of world-class stars set to line-up, such as British Olympic silver medallist Keri-Anne Payne and world 5k champion Thomas Lurz of Germany. There will be a host of celebrities taking part too, including Labour MP Andy Burnham.
