Top performing Boca Raton Realtor diagnosed with cancer continues to produce at top levels through chemotherapy

BOCA RATON, FL (March 25, 2016)—Boca Raton Realtor Judy Frankel heard the words that no one wants to hear. The pain in her leg wasn’t caused from just a lump, it was a tumor. What she had previously accepted as chronic pain was actually cancer.

Her diagnosis came in September of 2015 and the next several weeks were filled with chemotherapy treatments and doctor visits in an attempt to shrink the tumor and save her leg. Through it all, Frankel chose to focus on her work in busy Boca Raton where she has been a leading sales associate for most of her career.

She didn’t try to hide her diagnosis. Frankel’s positivity and refusal to let the cancer overcome her kept her moving. She focused on her work, continued showing her listings, and took care of her clients. “I focused on the things I could control,” Frankel said. “I kept on working and chose not to let the scare of cancer control my life.”

While working, Frankel underwent a round of chemotherapy. After it was determined that the treatment was unsuccessful, Frankel faced devastating news.

“The doctors told me that the chemotherapy didn’t shrink the tumor,” Frankel said. Surgery to remove her leg was necessary. Frankel scheduled the surgery for that same week.

Despite the chemotherapy treatment and the loss of her leg, Frankel maintained her optimism and, again, focused on her work. She achieved the elite International President’s Circle Award for her success in sales in 2015, an achievement earned only by the top sales associates.

Frankel stands among the top 1% of sales associates in the state of Florida with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate and among the top 2% nationwide. She credits her success to a strong support team and a relentless positive attitude. Throughout her diagnosis and treatment, her clients, family, and other sales associates have all lent their encouragement to Frankel who was never one to accept help. Fiery and strong willed, she made it through the hardest moments with a show of strength.

Now working from home, Frankel will resume chemotherapy and will soon begin physical therapy to learn how to use her prosthetic leg. “Now, three months later, persistence, a will to live, and my faith made it all possible,” said Frankel. “I just want people to know that if your worst fear becomes a reality, you shouldn’t lose hope.”
