Inside the Home of Washington Nationals’ First Baseman
WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 22, 2016) – Ryan Zimmerman, first baseman for the Washington Nationals, is offering an inside peek into his old-country European style estate. Nestled in a private oasis, Zimmerman and his wife, Heather, take viewers on an exclusive tour for the Home Field Advantage video series, a partnership between Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC and MLB.com. The video is part of an 11-week series on the Coldwell Banker® Blue Matter blog, showcasing behind-the-scenes tours of 11 baseball stars.
Leading viewers through his impressive home gym, Zimmerman says, “This is sort of the off-season home for me to be able to just come down here and get my work done, and not have to go anywhere. It means I get to spend more time with my family during the day.”
The Zimmerman family put their own touches throughout the house in the home theater, the backyard pool and waterwheel, wine cellar and the basement recreation space. While they spend most of their time travelling, the couple prefers to use their house as an escape, providing entertainment and relaxation from the comfort of their own home.
In addition to Zimmerman, the video series also toured the homes of Joc Pederson of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Heidi Watney of the MLB Network, Dellin Betances of the New York Yankees and Dallas Keuchel of the Houston Astros.
“Everyone, including elite professional baseball players, has an emotional connection to their home. The Home Field Advantage series is a way to connect fans with their favorite players on a more personal level by seeing and hearing what home means to them,” said Sean Blankenship, chief marketing officer for Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC.
The Home Field Advantage series will also be featured on MLB.com, the official website of each player’s team and on the Coldwell Banker® Blue Matter blog.
