IRVINE, Calif. (August 17, 2012) — Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), the world’s largest third-party coin grading company and an independent member of the Certified Collectibles Group (CCG), is pleased to announce that several NGC-certified Chinese rarities will be on the block at Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio’s 2012 Hong Kong auction. The prestigious auction, to be held August 19 to 22, 2012, has attracted many must-see Chinese and Asian coins and banknotes.

An NGC-certified 1889-A French Indo-China Piastre, graded NGC PF 66, is one of the most anticipated Chinese Asian rarities in the foreign coins session. Paper Money Guaranty, a sister company to NGC and a member of CCG, will also feature low-mintage rare Chinese and Asian notes, including a finest-known Ming Dynasty 1 Kuan P-AA10, graded PMG AU 55 Net.

“It’s incredible to see how the hobby has grown in China and throughout Asia, and we’re proud to see so many NGC coins and PMG notes at an exciting event like this one,” said Steve Eichenbaum, CEO of the Certified Collectibles Group. “It’s a great honor for us to have graded these rarities, and it’s a great opportunity for hobbyists to see them in person on such an impressive auction floor.”

Live bidding for the sale will occur at the Mira Hong Kong, 118 Nathan Road, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. If you’re unable to attend the auction in Hong Kong, you can visit Stack’s Bowers’ online bidding page at their website.
