NYAB has signed an agreement with Swedish Transport Administration regarding strengthening measures on the road 750, between Holmfors and Sandträsk, as well as construction of a new bridge in Boden municipality in Norrbotten. The value of the contract is approximately 112 000 000 SEK.

The 33-kilometer-long road between Holmfors and Sandträsk is an important transport route for business, especially the forest industry. The road is also a parallel road to Malmbanan and therefore important as a service road to the railway. The road has extensive damage that is most apparent during the thawing period. The project includes strengthening the road, which will be able to handle a higher load capacity class for heavy vehicles, as well as construction of a new bridge in Boden Municipality. Construction is expected to start in summer 2023 and be completed in the fall of 2025.

The investment plan of the Swedish government for 2022-2033 includes record-high investments in infrastructure. NYAB is building sustainable infrastructure and has several ongoing projects as well as nationwide frame agreements within infrastructure with Swedish Transport Administration.

“We are happy for the continuation of our good collaboration with Swedish Transport Administration and with pride continue to build more sustainable and safe infrastructure in Sweden. Road 750 is an important transport and service road, and the work needs to be organized and schedule so that traffic can continue as efficiently and safely as possible, throughout the project”, says Björn Lindbäck, Business Area Manager Infrastructure at NYAB.
