New ferrule connector fiber cleaving and inspection solutions available from NYFORS

Designed for high volume production optical fiber cleaving, the automated AutoCleaver™ from NYFORS can now be set up to process also ferrule connectorized fibers with high speed and precision. Using newly developed ferrule holding accessories, it produces high quality, low end face angle cleaves on ferrule connectors with industry leading cycle times of less than 15 seconds through a fully operator skill independent process.

The AutoCleaver™ provides fast and efficient ferrule cleaving capability whether it is used stand alone or integrated in fully automated industrial production systems. Flat and smooth fiber end faces, free of surface defects such as hackles, mist and chips, and with very low cleave angles are produced with high consistency thanks to the stable mechanical design and proven tension-and-scribe cleaving process.

Process monitoring and optimization of ferrule connector cleaving can be performed with the CleaveMeter 2™ and CleaveMeter 3D™ optical fiber end face interferometers thanks to newly developed adaptor plates, aligning the cleaved ferrules carefully in relation to the system optics.
