NYFORS releases a new software for the CLEAVEMETER 3D™ at Photonics West (booth 5355)
NYFORS TEKNOLOGI AB (publ) introduces its 2.1 version of the MegapixelViewer for use with the CLEAVEMETER 3D™ - a cleave inspection interferometers to measure cleave angles and inspect fiber defects like heckle or blade intrusion. The new MegapixelViewer adds features to test fibers with a single click and quantifies the defects of the fibers.
“The new ‘Test’ feature of the software gives all the relevant information of the fiber in a quick view with a single click, making it efficient to test large quantities of fibers in production environments”, commented Erik Böttcher, CEO of NYFORS TEKNOLOGI.
The program will evaluate the fiber against user defined quality parameters and return a pass or fail value including all relevant parameters. All tested fibers are automatically logged for future reference.
This allows the user to quickly identify any potential problems with the cleaver and make adjustments. Logging the cleave quality allows the user to identify possible causes of production problems retroactively.
The MegapixelViewer now also includes a measurement of any defects in the fiber. The program will graphically mark out all defects on the cleave. It will also calculate the depth of the blade intrusion according to a maximum acceptable angle. Furthermore, you can now measure the radius of curvature of the fiber along any line across the cleave.
The CLEAVEMETER 3DTM will be further presented at Photonics West 2016, February 16 – 18 at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, CA.
