A technical presentation by Nynas will feature at the ASC Annual Spring Convention & EXPO, the largest gathering of adhesive and sealant professionals in North America.
On 3-5 April it will be possible to access the leading suppliers, technologies and solutions in the adhesive and sealant market in connection with the ASC Annual Spring Convention & EXPO in Atlanta, USA. This is an excellent opportunity for all suppliers, manufacturers and service providers to obtain a comprehensive view of developments in the industry, featuring everything from business development and market trends to new technology and applications.
In parallel with the conference there will be an expo session with major actors from the adhesive and sealant industry. Furthermore, on 4 April Dr Peter Kaali, Technical Advisor Chemical Industry, will be giving a technical presentation – “Additional Functionality of Mineral Oil in Hot Melt Formulations” – under the main theme of Improved hot melts.
The starting point for the presentation is that it is possible to use mineral oil as a compatibilizer between new metallocene-based polyolefins (mPOs) and resins derived from natural resources. Normally incompatible in formulations, both these ingredients can offer significant cost advantages to producers of hot melt adhesives.
“The studies conducted by Nynas show that the unique properties of mineral oils enable them to help improve the compatibility between mPOs and rosin resins. In addition, it serves as a guideline for formulating hot melt adhesives with these specific raw materials,” explains Dr Kaali.
The ASC Annual Spring Convention & EXPO is one of the most important meeting places for the industry with more than 700 representatives from all levels and departments of large and small adhesive and sealant manufacturers and supplier companies worldwide. “Nynas has taken part and presented new developments during the ASC Spring Convention more or less every year in order to build and promote our brand and to create awareness of ongoing activities.
