European Coatings Show 4-6 April 2017Nynas meets the international coatings community in Nuremberg
Mineral oils are used in many coating applications and processes. The focus is on the benefits that these offer the end product as Nynas takes part in this year’s European Coatings Show.
There are rapid technical developments under way in the manufacturing of paints, coatings, sealants and adhesives, resulting in heightened expectations of greater performance and efficiency. This is a product area in which Nynas, as a supplier of specialty oils, holds a strong position.
“Our naphthenic oils can act as plasticizing agent, a carrier of active ingredients or be part of the active formulation itself. If the right type of mineral oil is used, the processability, marketability and functionality of the finished product can often be optimised,” says Anna Eriksson, Technical Manager Chemical Industry Nynas Naphthenics. The chemical setup and hence the functionality can be very different between different mineral oils, depending on which type of oil is used in the application. Due to the naphthenic chemical characteristics, Nynas oils offer high solvency combined with a high degree of refining.
The Nynas team will be explaining this in more detail during the European Coatings Show, which is taking place on 4-6 April in Nuremberg, in Southern Germany. The leading international players in the industry will be on site to present new products and innovations, and also to discuss trends and future development opportunities. Nynas will be meeting both current and potential customers and other stakeholders, explaining in more detail about the unique properties of their naphthenic oils on Stand 1-242 in Hall 1.
“We have very interesting solutions to offer the coatings industry. Our products are extensively used in the adhesive and printing ink sub-segments, and we see potential in a range of different coating segments,” concludes Anna Eriksson.
