Nynas Rubber Trends Seminar, Tokyo, 23 May 2017Rubber future trends in Tokyo
A large number of participants from the Japanese rubber industry will be gathering when Nynas holds a seminar focusing on the challenges and opportunities of the future.
More than one hundred people will be gathering at the Swedish embassy in Tokyo on 23 May to attend a seminar on trends and development opportunities in the rubber industry. Attendees will include representatives of Japanese manufacturers of tyres, polymers and industrial rubber, together with rubber-related companies such as insoluble sulphur producers, and one of the leading Japanese industry organisations.
The aim of the seminar is, among other things, to describe current market trends in the rubber industry in both the USA and in Europe and Asia/Pacific, and also to highlight the effects of the ongoing restructuring of the refinery industry in connection with the closing down of many Group I plants.
Against this background, various future development opportunities will be outlined for each segment – tyres, polymers and industrial rubber – while at the same time explaining how Nynas’ environmentally adapted specialty products can support the industry in its process of change.
The technical presentations will be given by Nynas employee Dr Mika Lahtinen, Senior Technical Adviser and a leading international name in the research and development of tyre oils, as well as Dr Herbert Fruhmann, Market Manager TYR.
“In view of the challenges facing both the Japanese and the European oil industry, it’s my hope that this seminar will show that Nynas will be able to contribute technical expertise, better services and security of supply to Japanese customers, as well as ensuring their sustainability,” concludes Shigeru Sano, General Manager of Nynas in Japan.
