Gordon & MacPhail upgrades malts with proprietary glass packaging

Gordon & MacPhail, the world’s leading malt whisky specialist, has upgraded its packaging by introducing a proprietary glass bottle designed and produced by O-I in Alloa.

The new design features embossed G&M initials around the shoulder and the year of the company’s establishment (1895) embossed at the base of the bottle. O-I is producing the container in both 70cl and 75cl size, which will be used in place of standard bottles across much of Gordon & MacPhail’s range.

Ewen Mackintosh, Director – Whisky Supply for Gordon & MacPhail says, “We bottle some of the world’s finest and rarest Single Malt Scotch Whisky from distilleries throughout Scotland. These are high value, specialist products. The proprietary bottle will help better communicate our brand values and premium positioning to the market.”

Scott Gibb, O-I sales manager in Scotland says, “Our flexible glass production techniques offer specialist distillers like G&M greater opportunity than ever before to create their own distinctive packaging and benefit from the brand-building characteristics of decorative glass.”
