Opens Eight New Programs in 4th Quarter

Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG) is proud to announce the opening of eight new OB/GYN hospitalist programs in the 2015 fourth quarter, tying the 2015 first quarter as the most starts in a three-month period since inception. OBHG has implemented programs for the following hospital partners:

An OBHG hospitalist program provides highly skilled, Board Certified OB/GYN physicians (hospitalists) on-site in a dedicated Obstetric Emergency Department (OBED) 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. While many obstetricians divide their time between their office and the hospital, OBHG hospitalist programs feature hospital-based physicians focused solely on providing care to patients in the labor and delivery unit and those facing emergency situations. Every patient is evaluated by an experienced emergent-care OB/GYN rather than the traditional nurse-led phone triage found in many hospitals, providing enhanced coverage and a critical safety net to private OB/GYNs and their patients.

“Having an OB/GYN hospitalist program means every expectant mother is afforded consistent, quality medical care by a physician when presenting to the hospital, which is not always the case,” said OBHG CEO Lenny Castiglione. “Our programs give women and their families peace of mind during one of the most important moments of their lives – when minutes can make a difference between life and death.”

This exponential growth demonstrates that OB/GYN hospitalist medicine is the new standard in women’s healthcare and is a testament to OBHG’s reputation for providing excellence. These programs also exemplify each hospital’s commitment to delivering the very best women’s healthcare in their communities.

“We celebrate every new hospital partner because each one brings us one step closer to elevating the standard of women’s healthcare. That’s more than just a vision — it’s a reality revealed in the numbers,” added Castiglione. “Our presence reduces delays in care and prevents many tragic outcomes in hospitals across the country every day. That is the true measure of our success.”
