Hershey’s Youth Track and Field Local Meet and Competition, April 20

The Hershey’s Youth Track and Field local meet and competition is a national track meet program for boys and girls ages 9-14, regardless of skill level. The local event is set for 9 a.m. on April 20 at West Moore High School Track and Field facility, 12613 S. Western Ave. Start training now.

The events are divided between age and gender. Field events include the softball throw and standing long jump; while the track events vary according to age group. The 100, 200 and 400 meter events are designed for all ages; the 50 meter run is for age 9 and 10 only; the 800 meter event is for boys and girls ages 11-12 and 13-14; and the 1600 meter event is for students age 13-14 only. The 4 x 100 relay is designed for all ages, and coaches must form their own team.

Participants are limited to entering three events – two track and one field event, or two field events and one track event. The only exception is for 9-10 and 11-12 year olds. These students can participate in a relay as well as the three events for a total of 4 events due to those age group relays not being eligible to advance to the North American Finals.

Medals are awarded to the top finishers and all participants receive a ribbon. The first place finisher in each event automatically qualifies for the State Hershey's Meet held in Norman, Oklahoma.

There is no charge to participate in either the local or state meet. To register for the 2013 OCCC Hershey’s Track & Field meet:
