Can it make a difference what drink you choose, depending on how you get it served? The alcohol liberated winery Oddbird believes in the power of nudging, and has set the challenge to make drinks liberated from alcohol people’s first choice. As one step towards elevating how liberated wines are served, they are launching a collection of handcrafted wine coolers and glasses that stands apart from the rest.

1st of December Oddbird and artist Paula Atelier are launching a range of peculiar wine coolers and glasses - made of niether metal nor glass. They are not very straight, traditionally elegant, nor sparkling. However they are designed with a purpose.

Family therapist and social worker Moa Gürbüzer had seen first hand the detrimental effects of alcohol, and set out on a mission to change drinking culture. She started to produce wines liberated from alcohol believing that the question ”would you like wine with or without alcohol?” should be as common as ”would you like coffee with or without milk?”. In line with nudging theories it is of major importance how things are presented in affecting our choices and behaviors.

The wine coolers are a symbol for dignifying the way we serve alcohol liberated wines, as the right temperature is crucial in order to achieve optimal taste. ”The liberated choice is not a trend but rather a shift of society as people want to live more consciously. This is history in the making, as the finest bars and restaurants offer a wide range of options and enhance the serving of liberated wines and cocktails.” says Moa Gürbüzer.

The collection is handcrafted with stoneware clay by Paula Atelier. It is inspired by organic shapes and just like in nature all pieces are unique. ”It is especially delicious to have sparkling wine out of a glass when you know it is made by a real person - just as wearing a jumper knitted by your mum. This is a celebration to the unique, where the human imprint makes it personal.” says Paula.

The limited collection of wine coolers and glasses is available at oddbird.com from 1 December 2020, to a price of 3500 SEK per wine cooler and 800 SEK per 2-pack of glasses.

The images are created by photographer Linus Morales and set design by Pernilla Löfberg.
