Odfjell was shortlisted for "putting sustainability at the heart of its operations." CEO Kristian Mørch accepted the award in a digital award ceremony yesterday evening.

"We are very happy to be awarded GREEN4SEA’s Tanker Operator Award, and we are especially pleased because it is based on a recognition of our sustainability efforts. We are proud of the results we have delivered so far, and I accept this award on behalf of the entire Odfjell organization on board our ships, at our terminals and in our offices worldwide. It is a true team effort to secure safe operations at sea and ashore, and also to find new and more sustainable solutions," Mørch said.

"We have come a long way already, but we also know that we have big challenges ahead of us to achieve our target of becoming climate neutral by 2050. We greatly appreciate the recognition GREEN4SEA shows for our work by nominating us, and the endorsement shown by every one who voted for us."

SAFETY4SEA’s GREEN4SEA Awards is an annual event that recognizes "organizations that demonstrated outstanding performance within the scope of fostering green and sustainable shipping." Among this year’s awards is the Tanker Operator Award, "to be awarded to any ship operator of oil or chemical tankers or gas carriers that demonstrated environmental excellence and performance above average in any aspect of maritime activity." The winner is declared after being nominated by GREEN4SEA, followed by online voting. Odfjell was nominated together with Stena Bulk, Synergy Marine Group, Thome Group and BW LPG.
