Norwegian Oil and Gas professionals are being paid the highest salaries in the world

Thursday, 18 July - The Norwegian oil and gas industry is booming according to the latest salary survey conducted by Oil and Gas Job Search and Hays Oil and Gas.

The guide was compiled from over 14,000 participants in 53 countries and provides data on average salaries, day rates and benefits for 20 specific industry disciplines.

The guide highlights that Norwegian based oil and gas professionals are being paid some of the highest rates in the world with an average salary of NOK1.07 million per year; 125% increase on the worldwide average of NOK475,000

Salaries for imported labour average NOK740,000 which compares favourably with the 53 countries surveyed.

Employer confidence has also seen a large increase with 26.7% extremely positive about the current market: up from just 9.7% in 2011. Three quarters of all employers expect staffing levels to increase in the next 12 months
