OKI Data Americas’ New MB401 Series of Mono Multifunction Printers Receives Prestigious “Pick” Awards from Buyers Laboratory LLC
MB461, MB471, and MB491 models recognized for economy, efficiency and fast print speeds which help optimize performance for small- to mid-sized workgroups
Mt. Laurel, NJ (July 19, 2012) — OKI Data Americas announces that its recently-launched MB401 Series mono multifunction printers (MFPs) have been named “Pick” award recipients by Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI). Specifically, the MB461/MB471 models received a “Pick” award for “Outstanding A4 Monochrome MFP for Small Workgroups,” and the MB491 received a “Pick” award for “Outstanding A4 Monochrome MFP for Mid-Size Workgroups.” “Pick” awards are given twice annually, recognizing products that provided the most outstanding performances in BLI’s exhaustive lab tests.
According to BLI, the MB401 Series MFPs from OKI win for both their economy and efficiency. Receiving “Pick” awards in the small and mid-size workgroup monochrome MFP categories, respectively, BLI observed that the OKI MB461/MB471 and MB491 MFPs offer rated speeds of 35 ppm and 42 ppm[i] and a compact design.

BLI’s awards stand alone in that they are based on a rigorous battery of lab tests that takes approximately two months to complete. The evaluation includes an extensive durability test, during a portion of which each unit is run at the manufacturer's maximum duty cycle. Other performance attributes evaluated include ease of use, media handling, productivity and value, among others. The MB401 Series builds off of the success of OKI’s MB460 and MB470 A4 monochrome multifunction printers, and offers users with increased print speeds, longer consumable life, improved front panel graphical display, scan-to capabilities, and wireless functionality (MB471w). Each MB401 model boasts highly competitive print speeds and best-in-class paper handling. The MB461, MB471 and MB471w provide a print speed of 35 pages per minute while the MB491 delivers a blistering 42 pages per minute[ii]. The MB461 provides three-in-one (print/copy/scan) multifunction capability along with 780 sheet maximum paper capacity. The MB471, MB471w and M491 provide four-in-one (print/copy/scan/fax) multifunction capability along with 880 sheet maximum paper capacity.
