OKI Data Americas Earns Honors for Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency from Buyers Laboratory LLC
The MB491+LP Monochrome Multifunction Printer with Legal Platen Achieves High Marks from Leading Analyst Group
Mount Laurel, NJ (August 5, 2013) — OKI Data Americas announces today that Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI) – the world's leading independent provider of analytical information and services to the digital imaging and document management industry – has recognized the MB491+LP for outstanding achievement in energy efficiency. Each year, BLI recognizes the most energy-efficient printers tested in the past eight months. The MB491+LP from OKI – a monochrome multifunction printer (MFP) with legal platen – received high marks for its lower than average projected annual energy consumption rate, above average tested toner yield, auto duplex mode, toner save mode and ability to fax/scan without requiring full machine warm-up.
According to BLI, the 47-ppm MB491+LP MFP maintained that energy-efficient reputation by attaining a lower than average projected annual energy consumption rate when compared against competitive A4 monochrome MFPs designed for small workgroups. BLI also noted that the MB491+LP also offers many of the same environmentally friendly features as the MB491 – another of OKI’s award-winning MFPs – which earned the same award last season. These features include automatic duplexing, toner-save mode and blank-page removal, and above average tested toner yields that also exceeded their rated yields.
During BLI’s real-world environmental job stream test, the MB491+LP MFP ran 4,000 impressions per media type (paper made with 30%, 50% and 100% recycled content) without experiencing any misfeeds or problems relating to curling paper or dust buildup. Additionally, tested noise emissions were competitive for the group, and the unit’s recycled paper mode and N-up mode for print and copy output were notable benefits.
“OKI Data Americas is honored that the MB491+LP has earned BLI’s outstanding achievement award for energy efficiency,” said Carl Taylor, Vice President of Marketing for North America at OKI Data Americas. “This award-winning, A4, mono multifunction printer with legal platen is yet another example of OKI’s commitment to delivering high-performance, reliable and efficient printing solutions to the marketplace.”
