Mount Laurel, NJ (August 16, 2012) – Yesterday, the OKI Data Americas U.S. Sales team donated more than 140 pairs of shoes to area children through the Center for Family Services (CFS) – a nonprofit human services agency located in Camden, NJ – as part of the agency’s Head Start program’s two-day Back to School event held in Chews Landing, and Camden, NJ.

The OKI U.S. Sales team initiated a promotional incentive program in April 2012, through which a portion of each sale of an OKI color single-function or multifunction unit sold was allocated into the “shoe bank” fund that at the conclusion of the company’s first fiscal quarter would be used to purchase the shoes.

“We are pleased to support Center for Family Services and the children and families they serve within our community," said Greg Van Acker, Vice President of U.S. Sales at OKI Data Americas. “The OKI U.S. Sales team has already started contributing to another ‘shoe bank’, and we look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in children’s lives.”

The OKI U.S. Sales team supports philanthropic activities that directly contribute to the welfare of the communities where employees live and work, such as non-profit educational organizations like the Center for Family Services Head Start program. The OKI U.S. Sales team selected CFS to be a part of this charitable endeavor because of the organization’s comprehensive continuum of care dedicated to changing the odds for children and families through prevention, intervention and education. In addition to receiving a pair of shoes from the OKI U.S. Sales team, the Head Start program provides attendees of the CFS Back to School event with backpacks, school supplies and other necessities to prepare for the start of the school year.

“We are very grateful for the generous support and donation from the OKI U.S. Sales team, and are excited to present each of the children in the Head Start program with a new pair of shoes for the upcoming school year,” said Richard Stagliano, President/CEO of CFS. “The OKI U.S. Sales team’s donation to the Back to School event helps us to create a positive experience for these children and prepare them for success.”

In addition to providing shoes for children in the Head Start program, the OKI U.S. Sales team contributions will also provide shoes for children in need on a worldwide basis per the shoe manufacturer's commitment to purchase one pair of shoes for every pair purchased.
