Avanza extends its membership on the Nordic Exchange

Swedish online broker Avanza, who is already a member on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, will also become member on the Helsinki Stock Exchange and on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. Avanza will have access to trade on the equity market as of June 19, 2006.

Jouni Torasvirta, President of the Helsinki Stock Exchange, says: “We are very pleased to see a new Nordic member on the Nordic Exchange. It shows that an increasing number of banks and brokers wish to be ready to offer their customers – professional and private – easy access to trading in all shares on our Nordic List, which will be launched on October 2, 2006.” Avanza is an online broker with approximately 120,000 customers. Avanza offers private customers possibility to invest their savings and pensions in stocks, investment funds and derivates. Avanza wishes to offer its customers automatic order routing as well as the possibility of trading at their own expense at the Helsinki Stock Exchange and the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. OMX has altogether 152 members (excluding 104 members that are members of more than one exchange) of which Stockholm Stock Exchange has 87 members, Helsinki Stock Exchange 52 members, Copenhagen Stock Exchange 55 members, Tallinn Stock Exchange 19 members, Riga Stock Exchange 18 members and Vilnius Stock Exchange 25 members.
