OMX and Swedish Institute for Financial Research, SIFR, institutes “The Olof Stenhammar professorship in financial entrepreneurship”. The possessor of the professorship will conduct research in financial entrepreneurship and promote research and higher education in financial economics and also promote debate about the financial sector.

The professorship is formed in cooperation with a Nordic university or institute of higher education and the research will be held at SIFR. The creation of the professorship is a part of a broader long term cooperation between OMX and SIFR, where the first part runs for five years.

- We institute “The Olof Stenhammar professorship in financial entrepreneurship” to strengthen research about the financial sector. SIFR and OMX share the ambition to enhance the exchange between the academic world and the industry in order to create new knowledge. Financial entrepreneurship is a relatively unexplored area academically and we hope that the cooperation between OMX and SIFR will contribute to strengthening the Nordic financial market, says Magnus Böcker, president and CEO, OMX.

- The cooperation gives us the possibility to create a research environment of first rate in Europe. It is very gratifying that OMX is committed to this endeavor, says Magnus Dahlquist, Director of SIFR.

- This agreement is very important in our ambition to build bridges between the academic world and the financial sector, says Lars Bertmar, Chairman of the board of SIFR.
