Record turnover and trades on OMX’s exchanges

Yesterday, share turnover and number of trades on OMX’s exchanges reached an all time high.

Share turnover yesterday rose to EUR 7.7 billion (previous record: EUR 7.6 billion on December 5, 2002) and the number of trades totaled 145,199 (previous record: 141,469 trades on January 18, 2006). These were the combined figures for the exchanges in Stockholm, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius (pro forma). “The whole of 2005 was characterized by high trading activity, and trading throughout January this year has been extremely high.
