Strong first quarter for OMX Nordic Exchange

Share trading value for the first quarter 2007 increased by 21% compared to the same period 2006. For the first quarter 2007, the number of trades in share trading increased by 50%.

Strong growth for Consumer Staples sector in March
The sector with the strongest growth in March was Consumer Staples, for which the trading value increased by 24%, compared to previous month.

Trading in March
The value of average daily share trading amounted to EUR 5.4 billion, as compared to EUR 4.4 billion during the past 12-month period. The average number of trades per business day amounted to 180,103, as compared to 139,729 during the past 12-month period. The average daily trading volume in Swedish, Finnish and Danish equity and fixed-income derivative products amounted to 632,806 contracts, as compared to 564,113 contracts during the past 12-month period.

High increase in ETF trading
Trading in Exchange Traded Funds, ETF:s, and Unit trust products during March increased by 155% compared to the same period 2006. The daily average trading value in March was EUR 227 million, as compared to EUR 89 million in 2006.
