Sydbank A/S will become a member of the Helsinki Stock Exchange as of Tuesday, April 17. They will thereby gain trading access to the Finnish equity market.

Sydbank is already a member of the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm and Copenhagen.

”We are very pleased to welcome Sydbank as a member to the Nordic Exchange in Helsinki. The expanded membership gives an increasing number of Danish investors a better opportunity to trade in Finnish shares,” says Jouni Torasvirta, President OMX Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.

Sydbank, the fourth largest bank in Denmark, was established in 1970 as the result of a merger between four small banks in Southern Jutland. Since then the bank, whose head office is located in Aabenraa, has grown through mergers, acquisitions and branch openings, and today its scope of activities encompasses the entire country. The bank’s international presence includes three branches in North Germany and a subsidiary bank in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

The Nordic Exchange has 158 members in 13 different countries.
