The total amount of corporate tax paid by OP Pohjola companies in 2024 exceeded EUR 386 million. OP Pohjola uses a considerable proportion of its earnings for the benefit of Finnish society: by paying taxes, paying OP bonuses and providing other financial benefits to its owner-customers and by strengthening its capital base, that is, its ability to finance and serve its customers.

"We are one of the biggest taxpayers in Finland. By paying a considerable amount of tax, we carry our responsibility for Finnish society and its wellbeing. Promoting the sustainable prosperity of our operating region is derived directly from OP Pohjola's mission. Thanks to our strong capital base, we are able to provide finance and insurance to Finnish companies, thereby helping the Finnish economy to grow. There is room for growth for both OP Pohjola and Finland," says Timo Ritakallio, President and Group CEO of OP Pohjola.

OP Pohjola's operating profit was EUR 2,486 million in 2024. OP bonuses and other financial benefits to owner-customers totalled EUR 574 million. At the end of 2024, OP Pohjola included 93 OP cooperative banks and the central cooperative (OP Cooperative) and its subsidiaries and affiliates. OP cooperative banks are often among the largest payers of corporate tax in their local areas.

In 2023, OP Pohjola paid more than EUR 397 million in corporate tax.
