Sari Pohjonen appointed as a member of OP Cooperative’s Board of Directors
On 4 March 2025, the Supervisory Council of OP Cooperative (the central cooperative of OP Financial Group) appointed Sari Pohjonen, M.Sc. (Econ. & Bus. Adm.), as a member of the Board of Directors of OP Cooperative as of 1 April 2025.
Sari Pohjonen’s previous appointments include CFO, Deputy to the CEO, and various other leadership positions in several companies since 2001. Her most recent roles include CFO of Oriola in 2021–2022 and CFO of Fiskars Group in 2017–2021.
Pohjonen has been a board professional since 2022. She serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Lindex Group plc and as a member of the Board of Directors of companies such as Kalmar and VR-Group plc. Pohjonen's CV is appended to this release.
Board member Riitta Palomäki is resigning from the Board, with effect from 31 March 2025.
On 1 April 2025, the members of the Board of Directors of OP Cooperative were Jaakko Pehkonen (rahoitusneuvos (Finnish honorary title); Professor of Economics, University of Jyväskylä), Jarna Heinonen (Professor in Entrepreneurship, Turku School of Economics), Matti Kiuru (Managing Director, Länsi-Suomen Osuuspankki), Katja Kuosa-Kaartti (Authorised Public Accountant, Authorised Sustainability Auditor, Tilintarkastus Kuosa-Kaartti Oy), Kati Levoranta (COO, P2X Solutions Ltd), Pekka Loikkanen (board professional), Tero Ojanperä (entrepreneur, board professional), Sari Pohjonen (board professional), Jaana Reimasto-Heiskanen (Managing Director, OP Pohjois-Karjala), and Petri Sahlström (Professor of Accounting and Finance, University of Oulu). Additionally, in accordance with OP Cooperative's bylaws, Timo Ritakallio (President and Group CEO, OP Financial Group) will serve as a Board member during his term of office.
