[Stockholm, Sweden, April 18, 2007.] To speedily, simply and structurally be able to record and document changes in an IT environment is possibly one of the best time savers for an organization’s support and operations. op5 now launches an update which integrates op5 Monitor with dokuwiki, a wiki with special focus on documentation.

Our technicians actually record changes now since they are possible to do it easily and quickly. We have tested most things on paper, Lotus Notes etc, but it has always ended in a complexity that discourages technicians and other staff from doing documentation. With a wiki in combination with op5 Monitor our technicians can directly create documentation which later saves us lots of time during e.g. a troubleshooting, said Kenneth Karlsson, IT Technician, Sungard.

DokuWiki is a wiki with a specific focus on documentation. This includes, among other things:

-         Editing of the documentation directly in a web browser
-
Audit handling
-
Support for uploading of documentation files, e.g. manuals and web sketches
-
Automatic ”site map”
-
Support for document templates
-         Authentication for LDAP, MySQL etc

By making important information both easy to access and search, Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR) can be significantly reduced and the service or application can be up and running quicker. At the same time a valuable and constantly updated knowledge database is created which can benefit all staff in an IT operations department, said Jan Josephson, CEO, op5.
