Stockholm, June 2, 2010 – Only three percent of Swedish enterprises achieve an AAA rating by credit analysts Soliditet, and the open source company op5 is now one of them. With strong growth in both revenues and results, 2009 was the best year ever for the open source-based systems monitoring developer.

– Being able to grow our business in almost every aspect in a year such as 2009 is of course satisfying, and to have it acknowledged by the Soliditet AAA-rating confirms that op5 has both dynamic and substance, says Jan Josephson, CEO and co-founder of op5. – For our customers, it is essential to have a solution for the long term. In this respect, a top credit rating such as this becomes a key selling points. op5 develops open source-based products for data centers and experienced solid growth in 2009, both in revenue and results.

Only three percent of Swedish enterprises are considered worthy of an AAA creditworthiness rating. The Soliditet rating system is based on an evaluation of four areas: basic facts, ownership, financials, and payment history.

– An important quality measurement is our very high extension rate of subscriptions, says Jan Josephson. – In 2009, we had more than 97 percent of our customer base extend their contract for our licenses. This demonstrates that our customers can see that we deliver value over time. This makes us confident and strengthens us both in the short and long term.

– The growth through 2009 demonstrates that op5 is well positioned as a challenger in a growth market where new customers enter, posing new demands to agile monitoring of the IT systems they have come to depend upon, says op5 board member Tom Nyman of Pod Venture Partners.

– The systems monitoring market has been dominated by the major enterprises, but is now being invaded by the open source model, delivering new solutions straight to the heart of the IT department.

op5 also strengthened its board of directors with two well known Swedish IT Industry names: Anders Harrysson, former President of Central & North Europé and Sun Microsystems and former Chairman of MySQL, and Rune Hurtig, co-founder and former chairman and CEO of Transmode. Anders Harrysson brings more than 20 years of experience from international IT industry and has served a President Central & North Europe, Sun Microsystems for many years. Rune Hurtig is the co-founder and former chairman and CEO of Transmode, one of the most successful high-tech companies in Sweden.

– We are very proud of the fact that we attracted both Anders Harrysson and Rune Hurtig to the board. By this, we know have a very experienced board for future growth” says op5 board member Tom Nyman of Pod Venture Partners. The board now consists of Rune Hurtig (chairman), Tom Nyman, Anders Harrysson, Joachim Karlsson and Per Wejke.
