Following the hugely successful launch of YOGAqua at Skiathos Princess Hotel last year, the team at the hotel are thrilled to announce that NEW for 2014, the YOGAqua craze will be expanding and YOGAqua for Kids will soon be available!

YOGAqua for Kids will launch when the resort re-opens in May 2014 and will be available exclusively to guests staying at the property. YOGAqua for Kids will be a fun and unique activity for the younger clientele to take part in alongside their parents in the warm, calm waters surrounding the hotel. Encouraging parent and child bonding as well as healthy outdoor exercise, YOGAqua for Kids is an enjoyable activity for the whole family. YOGAqua for Kids will be available throughout the season from May – October 2014, classes will be small (6 people max) and will cost €20pp per session (60 mins).

YOGAqua is a fresh and exciting fitness trend that originated in L.A and focuses on a combination of traditional Yoga exercises and Stand-Up Paddle-Boarding. The new YOGAqua for Kids classes will be available to children aged 7yrs and older and those taking part will learn how to use a Stand-Up Paddle-Board and how to perform different Yoga poses with guidance from the instructor and their parents.

Kids and their parents will start by gathering on the beach to enable the little ones to learn how to perform each pose and become comfortable with the boards before taking to the water. Throughout each YOGAqua for Kids session, the instructor will ensure that each child and parent receive additional guidance by making their way around the class to assist with poses and answer any questions.

Sarah Tiefenthaler, a trained Yoga instructor and founder of YOGAqua thought up the idea after being invited to try Stand Up Paddle Boarding for the first time following an extensive yoga teacher training in Costa Rica. It wasn’t long before Sarah began to experiment with yoga poses on the boards and she spent weeks trialling and testing different yoga poses and sequences, revising them again and again until she developed a sequence that really worked… YOGAqua was born! “I’m delighted with how YOGAqua has been embraced at Skiathos Princess Hotel following the launch last year and it’s been great to have the chance to work on putting together a programme for kids. I guarantee it will leave both parents and kids feeling refreshed and inspired!” - Sarah Tiefenthaler, founder of YOGAqua.
