A packaging pro recently took on a charity challenge of epic proportions and scaled the highest mountains in Britain, Wales and Scotland.
A packaging pro recently took on a charity challenge of epic proportions and scaled the highest mountains in Britain, Wales and Scotland.
Laura Croisdale, environmental officer at Encore Packaging Solutions, along with 11 other brave hikers scaled all three peaks on the 28 and 29th June for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The 24hour trek saw the team climb Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scotland, in the late afternoon, before driving on to climb Scafell Pike (978m) in the Lake District into the early hours of the morning. Finally, they headed to Wales where they faced the steep ascent of Snowdon (1,085m).
The team completed the challenge in 23 hours, 49 minutes so far raising £1,805. The intrepid, novice mountaineers are: Rory Boswell, Mark Bowers, Lindsey Butcher, Simon Butcher, Connor Campbell, Laura Croisdale, Harriet Gibson, Bill Hilder, Ben Johnson, Piers Pye-Watson, Amy Realey and Kirsty Realey.
Laura said: “I’ve never done a challenge that intense before, it was a really tough 24 hours but a fantastic achievement at the end especially knowing we’re raising funds to help an outstanding cause.
“I’m very proud of all our hard efforts, and can’t believe we raised so much for such a valuable cause.”
