NEW HOSPITAL DIRECTOR FOR OPTEGRA EYE HOSPITAL, LONDON

16 December 2014...Leading eye hospital group, Optegra, has appointed a new Hospital Director at its specialist London hospital.

Simon Buttrum begins his new role in December 2014, reporting to Optegra’s Operations Director. His role is to effectively lead and develop the hospital, ensuring that its performance meets or exceeds agreed targets for both quality and finance.

Key tasks and responsibilities include establishing and maintaining clear, positive and professional leadership for hospital staff and striving to ensure the hospital, which is based in Colindale, maintains its reputation for being a “Centre of Excellence” in ophthalmic patient care.

Mr Buttrum has outstanding credentials within the healthcare sector. He joins Optegra from Greenbrook Healthcare, where he was Operations Manager since June 2013. Previous posts include a long employment at Johnson & Johnson, where he joined as a graduate and worked his way up to Regional Sales Manager over an eight year period.

More recently he worked at Spire Healthcare as a Business Development Manager and at London Urology Ltd in Harley Street as General Manager.

A key focus of his role at Optegra will be working with the newly established Professional Partnership Managers around business development activity. This includes building relationships with optometrists, GPs, CCGs and strategic partners in the local area to raise awareness of Optegra’s offering and encourage referrals.

Simon Buttrum’s qualifications include a BSc Hons Degree in Applied Chemistry, an MBA and an Advanced Certificate in Marketing.
