Optomed has received medical devices registration for its Aurora camera in Brazil

Optomed has received medical devices registration for its handheld fundus camera Optomed Aurora in Brazil.

The Brazilian medical devices authority (ANVISA) approval enables commercial activities of the Optomed Aurora camera in the Brazilian market. Optomed has earlier signed a distribution collaboration agreement with a company focusing on the sales of ophthalmic instruments in the Latin American market, so sales to Brazil can start immediately.

Ms. Laura Piila, Vice President Devices comments: We have been expecting this registration for several months as Brazil is the most attractive of the Latin American markets and we have had demand for our cameras already since the beginning of our distribution collaboration. Now that we have the registration in place, we can start the launch activities of our Aurora camera also in the Latin American market.”
