Clarification concerning press release on April 18

Opus Group hereby gives clarification to the press release of April 18, 2016 that the Parliament has voted that Sweden should not adjust the inspection interval to the minimum required by the new EU Directive.

The Swedish Parliament has voted on the traffic committee’s proposal in the report TU11, Vehicle and road traffic issues. In the report the traffic committee rejects the motion from Pia Hallström (M) in the light of the ongoing preparatory work within the Government Offices. Meanwhile the traffic committee expresses that ”Faced with the government's preparation work, the committee therefore wishes to state that Sweden should not adjust the inspection interval to the minimum required by the EU Directive.”

All political parties supported the writing of the traffic committee, and this was also the chamber’s (Parliament’s) decision at the vote (the vote) on April 14. This implies that the Parliament presents this to the Government, which is responsible for the implementation of the new EU Directive.

Opus Group wants to correct the information in the press release on April 18 that the Ministry of Industry has been negative to the recommendation from the Transport Agency. The government has not yet commented on how they finally intend to proceed with the implementation of the new EU directive
