Systech Chile Ltda., a subsidiary of Opus Inspection, Inc., has opened its first vehicle inspection station in the Maule Region, south of Santiago, Chile.  Under an 8-year concession contract with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication, Systech Chile is providing vehicle emission and road worthiness inspections in three inspection stations in Curicó, Parral, and Constitución.

“The opening of the Curicó inspection station, known as “Plantas de Revisión Técnica” (PRT), is the first of nine stations, in multiple regions, currently being designed, built and operated by Systech Chile” stated Rigoberto Bahamonde, Director of Latin American Operations. “The PRT stations contain Opus Inspection’s fully automated, state-of-the-art, multi-position lanes for both light and heavy duty vehicles”, Bahamonde continued.

“We are pleased to have obtained approval of the Ministry to open our state-of-the-art PRT station in Curicó today, said Chris Smith, Opus Inspection’s Vice President of Operations. “We look forward to providing fast, convenient inspection services in Maule, and the other regions where we have been selected to build new PRT stations.”

The Maule Region concession PRTs will conduct approximately 65,000 paid vehicle inspections a year.
