Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) is Japan’s largest commodity futures exchange, handling 80% of all commodity futures transactions conducted in Japan in 2008. TOCOM was established as the successor institution of the Tokyo Textile Exchange, which was founded in 1951 and merged with the Tokyo Rubber Exchange and the Tokyo Gold Exchange in 1984.
