Leading provider of market connectivity responds to market demand and releases Linuxbased
market gateway to IDeM

Milan & Stockholm: Monday, March 26, 2007 – Orc Software (SSE: ORC), the leading global provider of technology for advanced trading, market making and brokerage, today announced the release of its Linux-based market connection to the Italian Derivatives Market (IDeM); its second generation development to the existing Orc Solaris-based IDeM market connection.

Orc’s testing of its Linux IDeM market connection with Borsa Italiana has been completed, making it the first ISV to provide market connectivity based on Linux in Italy. Orc will continue to support both its Solaris and Linux market connections.

“Orc Software continues to anticipate and deliver leading technology requirements for the global financial industry,” says Matteo Carcano, President Western Europe for Orc Software. “Orc’s latest Linux-based market connection for IDeM adds extra trading performance whilst reducing latency. Algorithmic traders looking for latest performance enhancing development will welcome today’s news.”

“Orc Software’s rapid response to Borsa Italiana’s recent decision to expand capabilities to Linux confirms its commitment to our markets,” says Nicolas Bertrand, Director of derivatives markets, Borsa Italiana. “With so many clients already using Orc technology solutions and the rapid growth of the IDEM, this is an important development and natural progression that provides improved efficiencies for the Italian derivatives market.”
